IPTV MAC Address: Find It and Activate an App
In this guide
What is an IPTV MAC address?
It is the 12-character hardware address of your TV or box (for example 00:1A:79:AB:12:CD), shown by IPTV apps that tie their activation and your playlist to one device. Apps such as Set IPTV, Smart IPTV and Hot Player show it on their start screen. You give it to the app’s website to activate the app and upload your playlist, or to your provider for a MAG portal login.
Where to find the MAC address
| Device or app | Where it is shown |
|---|---|
| Set IPTV, Smart IPTV, Hot Player and similar apps | On the app’s first screen or under Settings / Device info |
| MAG box | On the label under the box; it starts with 00:1A:79 |
| Samsung TV | Settings › General › Network › Network status (or About this TV) |
| LG TV | Settings › General › About this TV, or Network › Wired / Wi-Fi › Advanced |
| Android TV / Google TV box | Settings › Device preferences › About › Status |
Use the MAC the IPTV app shows, not one from the TV menu, if they differ. Some apps generate their own device ID.
How MAC activation works
- Install the app from your TV’s app store and open it. Write down the MAC address it shows.
- On a phone or computer, open the app’s official website and find the Activate or Upload playlist page.
- Type the MAC address exactly, with or without colons as the site asks.
- Pay the activation if the app asks for one (a few apps also sell it in the app).
- Paste your M3U link (or Xtream details if the site accepts them) and save.
- Restart the app on the TV. Your channels load.
The two-MAC catch
Many TVs have two network cards: one for Wi-Fi and one for the cable. Some apps show a different MAC depending on how the TV is connected. Set IPTV, for example, says each TV has two MAC addresses and the second one is activated automatically after you switch connection types and restart the app. If your playlist suddenly disappears after you plug in a cable, check which MAC the app now shows.
MAC address for a MAG portal login
MAG boxes do not take usernames or playlists. The provider registers the box’s MAC address and gives you a portal URL. We offer MAG portal logins: send us the MAC from the label under the box on WhatsApp and we reply with the portal URL to type under Settings › Servers › Portals.
Questions
Can I change the MAC address?
Not on most smart TVs, and apps lock activation to it. Set IPTV’s site says MAC addresses cannot be changed manually.
I got a new TV. Do I pay again?
Usually yes: activation belongs to one device. Check the app’s own rules before you buy.
Is my MAC address private information?
It identifies the device, so only give it to the app’s official website and your provider.
